What a Queensland Plumbing Licence Covers
Queensland runs two licence layers for plumbing and drainage. An occupational licence goes to the individual doing the pipes; a contractor licence goes to the business accepting the job. The QBCC grants both.
The occupational licence shows the individual is competent at the work. The contractor licence shows the business behind the job is financially sound and knows how to manage it. Three classes matter to a homeowner:
Plumber
the class for plumbing work, minus jobs that carry their own endorsement.
Drainer
the class for below-ground drainage, again minus specially endorsed jobs.
Gas work
reserved by law for licensed gasfitters, who install, change, fix, service, pressure-check and sign off gas systems and pipework. You may view that licence before gas work starts.

How Plumbing Work Is Regulated in Queensland
Oversight splits between the QBCC and council. The QBCC handles licensing and the notifiable work register; council reviews applications, grants permits and sends inspectors out.
Regulated work falls into permit, notifiable and minor categories, all reserved for licensed plumbers or drainers. The QBCC's view is that this rule guards the house, the owner's health and the owner's legal position. You can confirm any licence, and search by address to see whether a Form 4 was registered, through the QBCC's registers online.
The paperwork you should receive:
A Form 4
after notifiable work, with a copy to you as the owner or whoever engaged us. The QBCC can supply one if it never arrives.
A gas system compliance certificate
when we finish gas work that installs or alters a system, given to you straight away, with a copy reaching the network operator within 5 days.
A council inspection on request
council will check notifiable work whatever the stage.
How a Visit From Us Runs
- 1

Call or message us
Ring (07) 3523 7121 or use the form and describe what's going on in Windsor. A few details up front mean the right gear comes on the first trip.
- 2

We find the cause on the spot
The plumber examines the fixture, follows the line back and names the cause in plain terms, whether that's a worn washer in a Swan Hill cottage or a sagging earthenware drain under a unit block.
- 3

Fixed quote, then the work
We give you a fixed quote before any work starts. It's flat-rate pricing with no hidden fees, and we only start once you approve it.
- 4

Settle up your way
Card and EFTPOS payment on site when the job's finished, or Fix now, pay later if that suits you better. Testing and paperwork close things out: each repair gets checked under load, and anything notifiable or gas-related earns its document on the spot.

Questions People Ask
Call (07) 3523 7121What is the difference between a plumber and a drainer?
Plumbing work sits under a plumber's licence, and drainage below ground level sits under a drainer's licence. Jobs needing a special endorsement sit outside both. Our team holds the classes your property's work calls for.
Is every job in Windsor done by a licensed plumber?
Yes, every job is done by a licensed plumber. We are licensed and insured, working under QBCC No: 15024607.
What can I do if plumbing work in Windsor turns out faulty?
Raise the fault with the plumber first. Where work looks unlicensed, defective or non-compliant, the QBCC takes complaints online. A Form 4 that never arrived for notifiable work can be chased up the same way.
What does QBCC licensed mean for my Windsor plumbing job?
The QBCC grants the occupational licence the individual holds and the contractor licence the business holds. QBCC licensed means both are current, and the register search confirms it.
